During my short stay in the Yakima area, I chose to have a late evening dinner at the Sea Galley near the mall. The place has the shipwreck lounge area with full bar & TVs and several dining areas. The restaurant has a fish house atmosphere with wooden walls, dim lighting and lots of rope. I arrived here after 9PM and since I wanted a quiet dinner I was seated in the dining room. I looked over the menu which offers American cusine with pub appetizers, salads, chowders, steaks, chicken, prime rib, pasta, and plenty of seafood options of course, at moderate prices. Dinner entrees include choice of salad bar, chowder, shrimp caesar, or bay shrimp cocktail plus choice of starch or fresh steamed veggies. See the menu at seagalley.com I could see one of the staff breaking down the Salad Bar. I'm thinking, am I too late? I asked the waitress if I could still get the Salad Bar with my dinner and she checks and one half of the two sided salad bar was closed, so that was good news. I order the Triple Fish Platter ($14.99) with the Salad Bar, which had the greens, garnishes, dressings, cold salads, hot bread, and jello. The baby shrimp pasta salad rocks and the hot bread was very good. The Triple Fish Platter was a modest portion of seafood, which was decent & slightly greasy. The Platter had fried fish, prawns. and clams with a side of rice pilaf. The fish didn't taste fresh (taste & smell the fishiness), but what more could I expect for this area. I quickly finished up my dinner because the dining room was closing at 10PM on a Thursday night (11PM Fri & Sat). The lounge was open until midnight (1AM Fri & Sat). The service was acceptable. 3.33 stars overall.

We came for the audios mother fuckers the big cock Cheese sticks usually cheese sticks are so skinny and scrawny and full of reading that they disgust me but the cheese sticks see are feeling and wholesome car with most everything in Yakima so OK is just OK service is pretty good a little better than you'd expect I'll tell you what it's a hell of a lot better than in Vancouver

Almost every seafood item is deep fried! More batter than actual meat too.

Order the Galley Seafood Sampler and was terrible. Calamari was so tough that I could not finish it. Clams were also tough. Shrimp was OK. The only good thing about this plate that it was half price during their Happy Hour. Keep on driving!

I get back to Yakima once a year to visit family. When we come, we make sure that we have dinner here at least once before we head out. The salad bar is great. The soup is good and hot. Since the year that it opened I have never had a bad meal. The people are friendly, and it is a small town, mountain feel. I have had, chicken, seafood, pasta, and the steak and have always been satisfied at the end of the night. Check out their site: seagalley.com/index.html

This was a casual night not expecting great things but expecting more then what I would get at a chain like Applebees or something, was I wrong. This was horrible and I am not exaggerating. I had Oysters which were supposed to be grilled and they looked deep friend. They had little taste as if they were frozen for a couple years. They were soggy and almost made me sick. My wife had steamer clams and prime rib. Her prime rib was undercooked from what she had asked and the steamer clams which I even tried had no taste. All you tasted was the nasty sauce they were soaking in. I would normally give at least a star for the service but it was bad as well, could not get a drink and when I asked what kind of scotch they had the waitress stared at me with an empty look as if I asked her if she was pregnant. Yelp will not let me give no stars, which is my rating so the 1 star is giving this place way to much credit. I was expecting a little more then what, say an Applebees or an outback steakhouse. At least one those you know what your getting and there is decent service unlike this place. I feel bad for subjecting my taste buds to such an atrocity.....Sorry taste buds.

I was looking for a good seafood dinner in Yakima. Service was very good. Food was average. Baked Halibut and Scallops where the halibut was decent but the scallops were very small and not great. That said, a little pricey for what I received. Not a bad place, just not great.

I am so in love with Sea Galley. Some friends and I had a late lunch/early dinner there en route from wine country back to Seattle, and it was fantastic. The atmosphere takes me back to family dinners at Black Angus...if Black Angus had a fishing boat motif, that is. Wooden dividers and rope nets separate the private booths which are lit with hanging lanterns that really seem like ithey could be from a ship's galley. Our service was great throughout the meal, and the food was delicious and quite inexpensive. I enjoyed the all-you-can-eat salad bar with a seafood combo plate of shrimp, scallops, and tasty snow crab legs. Baked potato on the side. The meal was very filling, and rang up at around $22. Sea Galley also offers ginormous steaks paired with seafood options, and the salad with Dungeness crab was heavy on the crab. My only wish is that there could be a Sea Galley here in Seattle...I could seriously drive out to Yakima just to have dinner there!

I don't understand all the vitriolic pans of this place. I thought it was very good. I was greeted and seated with friendly professionalism. My server, Ashley, was attentive without being intrusive, friendly and smiling, helpful and accurate. What more could you want? Oh yeah, she was very pretty! I started with the crab cake appetizer. Very good, much more crab than cake. At about $9, an ok value. The dinner at $19 would have been overpriced. The caesar salad was ok, kinda tasteless and, for some bizarre reason, had diced tomatoes. Anchovies would have been better, tastier and more accurate. For a main course, I couldn't find a seafood dish whose menu description sounded tempting. Odd for a seafood place. So I went with the smallest Prime Rib portion, also a house specialty, 8 ounces of pink perfection at a very reasonable $20. With a loaded baked potato, I was completely satisfied. On the whole, I recommend this place and will return next time I get thru here. Only improvements I can think of: bread and butter on the table would have been nice. So would a glass for my beer. But, for good food, I can tolerate these tiny lapses. I definitely enjoyed this meal.

We have eaten here 3 times and each time Sea Galley did not disappoint. Last visit was on Saturday evening 8/8/15 and had a great dinner. Highlights included the shrimp cocktail and the baked salmon. The server (did not get her name) was friendly and helpful, and kept our drinks filled and kept us stocked with bread. Love the ambiance and the friendliness of the staff, we drive here at least once a year from Seattle to eat here.

I would not eat in this restaurant again if I were starving. The seafood was awful. I wish I had eaten ANYWHERE else but here. The prices are high and the food quality was below poor. Even the coctail sauce was non palatable. I had to ask the waitress for the ingredients to make my own coctail sauce for us to be able to gag down half of our dinner. The two good things i can say is the salad bar a was okay and the service was good. Save your money and eat somewhere else in Yakima.

This used to be a great place to come to eat but lately its not what it used to be. The food now tends to be low quality and most of their fish is fried also the service is lagging, used to be my favorite rest in union gap now it's just disappointing

My wife and I dined there on Friday March 27. Our experience was less than favorable. After we were seated we waited for 15 min or so and we're getting up to leave before a server asked if we had been helped. It was not busy and 2 other tables had been seated and served in the time we waited. One server had looked at us several times on their way through. Not once offering to help us. The portions were small and the clam strips were terrible. I would not advise anyone to dine there. We certainly wont.

I couldn't start a review unless I put in at least a one star. Our waitress seemed a little stressed. We placed our drink order along with an appetizer. Took forever to get our appetizer. She brought our drinks and said she would be back with our bread. Never came back with bread. We just had a couple appetizers along with their soup and salad. Not to hard of an order. Salad bar was just fine. She said again that she would bring our bread when she brought our soup. Three of us ordered soup and she only brought one. When she came back to refill our drinks we had to ask for the other two soups. I'm sure their bread was good had we ever got some. My soup was lukewarm and very salty. The waitress never even asked how the soup was and she seen I didn't eat it. The highlight of our dinner was the deep fried zucchini very good. For as much as they give you they need to give more sauce. Unfortunately even the zucchini as good as it was will not get me to go there again.

5-stars because of the service, atmosphere, and quality of food. Not a "5-star fine dining" rating. Food was fantastic. Had muscles, burger, halibut, Caesar salad (between us all). All were great. Even the little old ladies that say across from us said they came back because of the salad. My ONLY complaint would be that the bathrooms are in serious need of a remodel and/or super deep cleanse. They were "clean" but smelled like an old bathroom smells. But hard to expect a remodel when the prices are this fair. Highly recommend.

An all time favorite. It's not new, but it's classic. Best appetizers ever (especially their clam strips). Love it. If you like a salad try the crab loui. It's in a whole different league. Calamari is also great. And most the rest too.

I am realizing that if I want to go to some of my old favorite restaurants that I went to when I was in Colorado which wound up closing all I need to do is stay out in the Northwest! My family and I went to Sea Galley when they had locations along the Front Range. Probably the best part to going to Sea Galley was their salad bar! Everything was so good and fresh! We were very sad when they closed and assumed the whole company went under for decades. I would have kept thinking that as well if I did not take the exit here when I was coming from Colorado to put eye drops in my eyes and get myself situated. I was elated to see a Sea Galley and made a point to come back. We did go back a couple of weeks ago. I was a little leery about eating there in the back of my mind because I have had it when I have not been to a place for a long time and finally return only to find that the quality suffered greatly as the years passed by. Still I wanted to eat here! I am pleased to say it was just how I remember it! They still have a nice, large and most importantly fresh salad bar which I went back to twice before our entrees came. I got the fish and chips. It was very tasty! The breading on both was perfect! Steve got salmon with mashed potatoes. He was never at a Sea Galley before and enjoyed it! He had one complaint that his mashed potatoes were somewhat cold but he liked the flavors and holds no ill will in going back. I asked the waitress just how many more Sea Galleys were there out there since I thought they were completely defunct. She said there are only two left, both privately owned. There is the location here in the Yakima area and one in Anchorage. So if you want to revisit fond old memories of Sea Galley you will need to go to one of those two locations! Not a problem!

We visited this home town restaurant on a Friday night with a reservation. Our group had 6 adults and 6 children. At first our waiter seemed knowledgeable however when specifically asking if the crab cakes were spicey we were told no, not at all. When the means arrived the sauce was not as described. It was difficult to obtain refills and I must add the meals seemed over priced for what we received. Especially the salad bar.

We came through town and thought not Denny's and to eat local. Well the food was ok at the very best, and expensive. We kept thinking we would have been better off at the Denny's across the street.

Sat in the bar... The first waitress we had was decent but the bartender/waiter that took over, never came to greet us or ask how we were. We had to go up to the bar for every thing. Had to ask for every round, refill, for a menu, water, and our ticket. Then they charged us wrong and we had to wait... Even told the manager and they said its because we sat on the wrong side of the building, didn't offer to fix anything or even apologize... Very, Very, VERY disappointed!!!!!!
